Search the reporting area, not only the city label
A roofing job can be advertised in a city while crews report to a shop in a nearby suburb or travel across the metro. Open the relevant city links below, then read the listing for the reporting address, travel radius and whether overnight assignments are part of the role. Do not assume the city label means all work stays inside municipal boundaries.
For a relocation comparison, use the six-metro wage guide. Its official wage geographies are metropolitan areas, which are broader than the individual city search pages.
A city-search workflow
- Start with your target city and one role, such as service technician.
- Try related titles if results are sparse: service roofer, maintenance roofer or commercial roofer.
- Check adjacent areas you can realistically commute to, then verify the employerβs reporting location.
- Record whether the posting is local, traveling or a temporary project.
- Confirm that the application destination is still open before sending documents.
Example: a DallasβFort Worth wage statistic does not mean a job labeled Dallas will have a convenient commute from every part of the metro. The shop address and typical job territory matter more to your daily travel than the metro name.
When a city page has no results
Zero listings means no matching jobs are currently displayed in that search. It does not establish that the local roofing market has no work. Check official employer directories, apprenticeship sponsors and the alert options. Keep your criteria consistent so you can compare new results over time.
Search beyond a city name
Employers may advertise a city while serving a wider area. Read the listing for reporting location and travel requirements. Compare housing and commuting costs alongside wages when considering a move.
How to compare cities for a roofing career Β· Browse by state
Confirm the work location
A city name may refer to the reporting office rather than every project site. Ask where the day begins, whether travel between sites is paid under the applicable arrangement, and how often overnight work occurs. The directory preserves existing city-search links; it does not rank cities or guarantee openings.
